Our project aimed to focus on youth, especially those who have just graduated, lacking the resources, knowledge, tools, important to start succesful businesses. Our project is intended to build a bridge connecting young people with the entrepreneurship world as they deserve a chance like anybody else to expose and have a chance to their ideas that might be game-changing.

In our hometown Tunisia, Sousse, we noticed that we have a decent number of young people who just finished their studies, either bachelor or masters graduates who are deprived from the opportunity to start their businesses because they do not understand how they can get funds or financial support to do so. Therefore, we decided to try and make the change, to support this community by building the afore mentioned bridge.

For this, we have decided to work with a certain group of 10 young people who will graduate this summer. We planned to get our target group in touch with people who can either fund their, such as investors, business angels and reputable companies, or with experts who can explain and teach them about the methods they can learn to in order to get funds and financial support, whether it is public organizations or private ones, so that they can start their own projects.

Consequently, we saw that it works for our best if we partnered with the right public organizations in order to implement this idea. Obviously, on the way to realize our goals, we organized workshops to frame our group to put them on the right track to achieve their objective with the assistance of experts who will guide them through their journeys. That’s why we held workshops with the presence of experts from the Tunisian employment office, which offer can offer academic and financial support for our target group. This can be in the form of loans, investments, courses about entrepreneurship or any other skills needed to start a business so that the target group can manage their projects.

So basically, the workshops were only a means towards the actual goal which is to help our target group of young people find funds for their business ideas.

The main objective of ElevateYouth is to make new graduates aware of the organisms and the financial resources they can refer to once they develop a business idea that they would like to get funds to tackle with the issue of underemployment.

We continue our efforts with the target groups and we plan to implement workshops and continue to reach out more young people to engage in this incubation procedure. Our initial target group of 10 young people who will graduate this summer, has participated in 3 workshops, mainly about the public and private organisms they can resort to in order to get funds for their projects. In addition, we have linked them up with investors, experts, and business angels who listened to their ideas and started evaluating and assessing them. They have been in contact with them recently, and they received feedback on their ideas so they can adjust and correct on some aspects of their future projects.

Our project will start its finalizing phase once our target group finishes their studies by the start of this summer. At that point, they will indeed start their journey, although by now, they have already benefited from the workshops done for them.
