Information about the Program
The “Give a Chance!–Glocalizing the Youth Work through Social Entrepreneurship in Euro-Med” project aims to help young people in different countries. These young people face common challenges like poverty and unemployment. The project focuses on a concept called “Glocalization,” which means addressing both global and local issues at the same time.
The goal is to first address problems in local areas because this can create positive changes in the entire community. The project focuses on tackling high youth unemployment and economic problems in Turkey, Spain, Morocco, and Tunisia. It wants to help young people gain skills to find jobs and become entrepreneurs.
During the project, 8 mentors will help 40 young people carry out local projects related to social entrepreneurship. These projects aim to reach 4,000 people in total, helping to raise awareness about important social issues and empowering young people to make a difference. To ensure the project’s long-term impact, they will also train youth organizations in each country on how to use social entrepreneurship in their work with young people.
Tasks of Mentors
1) Providing mentorship to support the young people in the project during the implementation of their own projects concerning context and financial manner.
2) Support the participants in a systematic manner about the topics that they choose the work on in their own communities.
3) Provide mentoring focusing on social entrepreneurship to address the youth unemployment and youth poverty along with cross-cutting issues in each country from gender mainstreaming, climate change.
4) Mainstreaming the social entrepreneurship among the youth workers and professionals to promote entrepreneurial activities in partner and programme countries for solving social issues.
Expected Profile of Mentors
- has experience on social entrepreneurship or country specific cross-cutting issues ( youth unemployment, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, economic inclusion of young people, gender equality or environmental change)
- has experience working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds
- willingness to support and guide the young people in their own countries
- can allocate at least 20 days to participate in mobilities and engage in virtual modüle
- can allocate time for the mentorship process for the young people
- has language abilities as fluent in English
- the priority will be given to the candidates from the towns of the organisations
Training Timeline
The mentors should be available to participate every training indicated below :
‘Give a Chance Mentorship Training’ programs have demand for up to 2 Mentors each in
Tunisia, Morocco, Spain and Türkiye(8 in total).
- Give a Chance Mentorship Training in Spain → 29 June – 5 July 2024 (including arrival and departure)
- Kick-Off of Give a Chance Kick-Off Training for Young People program in Agdz, Morocco – 04/13 September 2024 ( including arrival and departure)
- Final Evaluation of Give a Chance Programme ( in between May – June 2025 to be decided jointly )
Expenses & Payment
The travel costs, accomodation and related costs will be covered during the implementation of the event. The mentor will be contracted and recieve honarario for their work to support the young people through the project.

We might call or Skype you for an interview in order to test your language skills and speak about you. Additionally, we will ask your current or former facilitators and/or mentors for recommendations.
Selection
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by April 25. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Note: You can only participate in the training if you have a valid passport. If you do not have one or your passport expires before June 2025, you must arrange to obtain a new one until May 1, 2024 to be able to apply for the visa in time for training in Spain.
