In this hands-on workshop, participants learned how to transform discarded wooden pallets into unique, eco-friendly furniture. The session began with an introduction to the principles of sustainable design, emphasizing the importance of reclaimed materials as a practical solution for reducing waste and lowering our carbon footprint. Volunteers then explored basic carpentry skills such as measuring, cutting, and assembling, which enabled them to create functional pieces including tables and chairs.
Beyond carpentry, the workshop also focused on creating a clean and welcoming environment. Together, participants dedicated time to cleaning and organizing the office and garden, ensuring the space reflected the same values of care, sustainability, and community that guided the workshop itself.
This activity not only provided practical skills in sustainable craftsmanship but also strengthened a sense of collective responsibility, showing how creativity and teamwork can turn waste into value while fostering a healthier and more inviting shared space. 🌱🪵
